ABOUT THE ARTIST
I'm a traditional landscape photographer--I expose black and white film on a large view camera. There's something about lugging a heavy
camera to make an exposure that makes the photograph more gratifying to me. I feel I don't just take the photograph--I earn it.
However, times have changed. Even though the images I capture are on film, I have started printing them digitally. The digital files
allow me to make prints just as I envisioned them. I can also make consistent images from negatives that are very difficult to print in a wet darkroom.
All photographs are taken with a Wisner Technical Field or Zone VI 8x10 camera on Kodak Tri-X film. The negatives are digitized using an
Epson V750 Pro flat-bed scanner and are printed on Epson Exhibition Fiber paper with pigment inks using an Epson 4880 printer.
